Tell Us About Yourself:
Jonathan Salinas, 30 years old and I’m an Operations Manager. I grew up in Weslaco, Tx and I graduated from the University of Texas - Pan American (now known as UTRGV). A few of my hobbies include fitness (obviously), hanging with friends and family, concerts, meal prep and anything Houston sports related. I like hip hop music, I graduated Top 25 in my high school class (24) and I’m a twin!

How Long Have You Been A Member At Cityside?
A little under four years. I became a member in January 2015.

What Made You Start CrossFit?
I started my CrossFit “journey” at a different gym back in 2013. I had seen and read a lot about CrossFit through social media and I was really intrigued because it wasn’t your normal “bro-sesh” type of workout; daily programming is set and all you have to do is show up!

What Do You Enjoy Most About Cityside?
Aside from the great community that’s been created, the programming is superb. I always leave the gym feeling like my day is complete after a great workout.

What Goals/Accomplishments Have You Achieved Since Joining?
Aside from PRs and the strength that I’ve gained, nutritional structure has been a huge accomplishment for me. I was introduced to Renaissance Periodization (RP) a little over two years ago through the gym and that changed everything. I have since taken my nutrition further by seeing the awesome people over at Michael Florida’s Life Nutrition.

What Are Your Future Goals?
Definitely would like to travel more, lift more and I’m excited about the new and improved Cityside that’s coming soon!
